Premium Wild Bird Seed Mix 1.8kg - High Protein Feed for Garden Birds

A high-energy wild bird seed mix suited to anyone who feeds garden birds through the year, and particularly through the leaner months when natural food is scarce.

The mix is rich in oils and proteins, which matter most when birds are working hard: in winter, when they need to maintain condition through cold nights, and in spring and summer, when adults are feeding young. It draws a good range of species, among them robin, dunnock, house sparrow, long-tailed tit, goldfinch, blue tit, great tit, chaffinch, song thrush and starling. Offered consistently, it will bring the same birds back reliably rather than attracting a passing visit.

It works well on its own and combines usefully with suet pellets and dried mealworms if you want to offer a broader spread of nutrients. Where you place the feeder matters as much as what goes in it; a sheltered spot with some cover nearby gives birds a place to wait their turn and retreat quickly if they need to. Keep the feeding area and any feeders clean, and put out fresh drinking water alongside.

• Wild bird seed mix, 1.8kg
• Suitable for use in a seed feeder, on a bird table, or in a ground feeder
• Attracts robin, dunnock, house sparrow, long-tailed tit, goldfinch, blue tit, great tit, chaffinch, song thrush, starling and others
• High in oils and proteins; suitable for year-round feeding
• Can be mixed with suet pellets or dried mealworms
• Position feeders in sheltered spots with nearby cover where possible
• Clean feeders regularly and provide drinking water

Start feeding before the first cold spell rather than waiting until birds are already under pressure; they will find the feeder more quickly if it is established before the weather turns. A consistent supply through autumn and winter is worth more than an occasional generous one.
