A high-energy wild bird seed mix in a 12.75kg bag, suited to anyone who feeds garden birds through the year and wants to do it properly rather than occasionally.

The mix is rich in oils and proteins, which means birds are getting genuine nourishment rather than bulk filler; this matters most in winter, when natural food is scarce, and again in spring and early summer, when adults are feeding young. You will find it draws a good range of species: robin, dunnock, house sparrow, long-tailed tit, goldfinch, blue tit, great tit, chaffinch, song thrush, starling and others besides. A reliable, consistent supply is what keeps them returning, and a 12.75kg bag makes that consistency easier to maintain without constant reordering.

It works well on its own and combines readily with suet pellets, fat-based products and mealworms if you want to offer a broader spread. Position feeders in a spot that gives birds some shelter from the weather and a clear line of sight for approaching predators; a little thought about placement repays itself in how freely the birds will use it. Keep the feeding area and any feeders clean, and always provide fresh drinking water nearby.

  • 12.75kg bag of wild bird seed mix
  • High in oils and proteins; suited to year-round feeding
  • Attracts robin, dunnock, house sparrow, long-tailed tit, goldfinch, blue tit, great tit, chaffinch, song thrush, starling and more
  • Use in a seed feeder, on a bird table or in a ground feeder
  • Particularly valuable in winter when natural food is limited, and in spring when adults are raising young
  • Site feeders in sheltered spots away from predator approach routes
  • Clean feeders regularly and provide drinking water alongside

Start feeding before the cold sets in rather than waiting until birds are already under pressure; in our experience, a station that is established by October will be well used by November. The 12.75kg size means you are unlikely to run short mid-winter, which is precisely when you would least want to.
